A co-worker asked me to make a little something that would say thank you from everyone at our organization in Texas, that we can send to a retiring friend in Washington D.C.. So I thought what better way than to scream "Texas", and we did. I used the Texas shape, word Texas, the Texas Flag, our state flower - the bluebonnet, and a star to represent the Lone Star State. I think the page turned out really cute and it has plenty of room for personal messages on the back.

I started by cutting a big heart using the cricut so that I would have a pattern to follow. Then I cut out the small hearts using three different cricut cartridges and paper from my scrap stash. Then I attached the small hearts to the big heart, filling it in as I went. I also turned the small hearts different ways to add some interest. Next I attached the big heart to a white card. I wanted to colors to pop off the page. Then I stamped "Happy Valentines Day" at the bottom. At this point, I liked the card, but thought it needed something. So I outlined some of the small hearts in different patterns using a silver gel pen. That was just what it needed. I love this card, and think it would make a great Valentine's day gift for anyone. I found the paper flowers at Michaels and built the card around them. I started by cutting the cards and the "love" pattern paper, which is from Colorbok's Earthtones paper pack. Next I used my white gelly roll pen to add some stitching aound the edges. Next I cut a banner using Cricut Craft Room Basics which comes free when you start using the Cricut Craft Room. I stamped "Sweethearts" on the banner using a stamp by Recollections and my Brovo Burgundy ink from Stampin Up. Then I finished it by adding the flowers with rhinestone hearts as the centers. A little bling goes a long way!!! I made a second version using pink and white flowers instead of the red and white. I like how it turned out as well :) Materials Used:
